WindMill Festival is India's First & Only International Children's Festival aimed at curating outdoor entertainment for the SEC A & A+ urban family, where the child is the epicenter of the curation. While the festival has no age limit, activities are curated to suit the 0- 3, 4-7 and 8-14 age groups.
Organized by Event Capital, we were thrilled for the opportunity to conceptualize and execute the full experience of the event.
Jungle has always been a favourite/hit for kiddies, and what better theme would be the right fit for such a large, outdoor event.
Larger-than life-installations of animals, birds and the jungle foliage to give the kids and those attending a true feel of stepping inside a jungle. To achieve this, three different illustration styles were used:
1. Geometric style used in the entrance arch for a solid statement
2. The walkway had a closer-to-life style used to create the experience of walking through a real jungle
3. Illustrations for the 45 workshops and signages were inspired from movie characters and pop culture to facilitate engagement and excitement
4. 400 origami birds were created and suspended in the air - we cannot have a jungle without enough birds!
The purpose was to make the décor and ambience of the space as engaging and captivating for the kids as possible. Hence, real life cutouts of animals, birds, trees etc. were placed. We focused on animal characters like Gloria, Lion King, Baloo etc. from various famous animated films to represent the workshops at the event as they would relate to the kids as well.
The theme was consistent throughout the entire event, right from the booking counter to the entrance to the stage and even to the signages for universal signs.
Our proudest moment was executing colour-blocking for the drone shot!
